An unusual mid 19th-Century American dentist's portable extraction case, signed on the brass-cased twelve-blade scarificator F. LEYPOLDT PHILA PATENT MAY 20 1851 , in the original blue plush-lined leather-covered case with purple plush-lined fitted trays, the small upper tray with clamp forceps ( one tip broken ), the middle tray with bicuspid/molar forceps and a compartment for the scarificator, the bottom with two root forceps, one incisor forceps and a grooved probe, the case -- 6 7/8in.
