AN UNUSUAL RUSSIAN SEVEN-PIECE SILVER-GILT AND ENAMEL TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE AND TRAY MOSCOW, 1886 AND 1887, MAKER'S MARK OF IVAN FEODOROV ANDREEV Comprising teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl and cover, cream jug, waste bowl and two cups and saucers; each of tapering cylindrical form, raised on three ball feet, with scroll spouts and handles, the covers with mother-of-pearl bead finials, enamelled overall with bright blue, light blue, white, rust, black and green vernacular motifs against a matted ground, engraved in Viaz Rosa Buckingham , the oval tray with similar enamelled borders, the center engraved with a strapwork and foliate scroll cartouche enclosing the same engraving and dated 11 November 1890 in cyrillic within a similar foliate scroll border, with openwork foliate scroll bracket side handles, marked under bases and on covers--height of coffee pot 7 1/2in. (19cm.); length over handles of tray 23 1/4in. (59cm.) ; together with a similar enamelled sugar shovel (gross weight 179 oz.) (11)
