19th century Comprising twenty-five prints and one triptych: seventeen prints and one triptych by Hiroshige, consisting of eight prints from the series Rokujyu Yoshu Meishozue (Famous Views of the Sixty-odd Provinces) depicting the provinces of Yamashiro, Iga (one duplicate), Shimousa (one duplicate), Dewa, Buzen and Hyuga, published by Koshimuraya Heisuke between 1853 and 1856, signed Hiroshige hitsu; five Tokaido prints, two prints, Fuchu and Kusatsu from the Hoeido Tokaido series, one Yoshiwara from the Reisho Tokaido series, one Fuchu from the upright Tokaido series, the last chuban yoko-e depicting Shono published by Tsutaya Kichizo, variously published and signed Hiroshge ga/hitsu; four fukei-ga prints, two depicting Tsukudajima and Takanawa from the series Toto Meisho, published by Sanoya Kihei, one of Shiba Akabane from the series Toto Meisho, publisher unidentifiable, one print from the series Kouto Shokei, published by Kawaguchiya Shozo, all signed Hiroshige ga; one triptych entitled Ise Meisho Futamigaura no zu, published by Sanoya Kihei, signed Hiroshige ga; one oban print depicting a sumo wrestler Akashi Shiganosuke, by Kunisada I, signed Kunisada aratame Nidai Toyokuni ga, one kage-e by Ochiai Yoshiiku signed Ikkeisai Yoshiiku hitsu; six facsimile prints mostly after Hiroshige. The smallest 16.5cm x 23cm (6½in x 9in), the largest 36.5cm x 25cm (14 3/8in x 9 7/8in), the majority mounted on cardboard (26).
