Venice: Francesco de Franceschi, 1584. 2 parts in one volume, large 8° (252 x 177mm), engraved titles within architectural border, 46 full-page engravings by Girolamo Porro (plate 34 suppressed and replaced by a repetition of plate 33). With blank s8 and u8 (without final blank, some slight marginal tears repaired, tear in K1 repaired without loss, first title on a stub, minor hole in title due to action of ink where owner's name had been written, 8 leaves inserted from a shorter copy). 19th-century citron morocco gilt. Provenance : Gio. Batt. Grillenzoni (early ownership inscription on title). Adams A-1677; Brunet I-436; Mortimer, Harvard Italian 30: "The most elaborate of the sixteenth-century editions."
