Contemporary French red morocco gilt, gilt triple fillet border and central coat-of-arms of Marie Leczinska, Queen of Louis XV (Olivier 2507, fer 4), gilt fleur-de-lys in compartments of spine, edges gilt. Provenance : Marie Leczinska (1703-1768) Queen of Louis XV (binding); Hans Fürstenberg (bookplate and pencil note 514); Otto Schäfer (his sale Sotheby's London, Dec 8, 1995 lot 416). Contemporary red morocco, gilt triple fillet border, gilt floral tools in corners, surrounding central arms of Louise Marie Thérèse d'Artois (Olivier 2556, fer 1), turn-ins gilt, blue silk doublures, edges gilt (lightly rubbed, small stain on lower cover). Provenance : Louise Marie Thérèse d'Artois (1819-1864), Duchess of Parma (binding). Louise Marie Thérèse d'Artois was the granddaughter of Charles X, King of France. When Charles X abdicated the throne, her family left as exiles and eventually settled in Austria. She married Ferdinando Carlo, Hereditary Prince of Lucca in Austria on 10 November 1845.
