2 vol. large in-f°; 48 pl. (text no collated, foxing, some lvs slightly browned, stamps erased of title-pages, some lvs uncut). Publisher's binding : full paper decorated in black, flat spine (wears, joints partly split, edges and corners dulled). FIRST EDITION of this description of India, preceded by a geographical introduction by Marmocchi. Illustrated with a folding map and 47 lithographs on tinted background, except 8 of them hand-coloured, figuring : Agra with the Taj Mahal, ruins of the old New Dehli, a bouddhist temple, scenes of everyday life, portraits and gods and goddesses. Flechia (1811-1892), was a fine Orientalist, professor of Sanskrit at the University of Torino and librarian of the Senate library in Rome. # Not in Chadenat. ¶ Edizione originale illustrata con 1 mappa e 47 lithografie (di cui 8 in colore). Cartone editoriale (alcune pp. abbrunite, arrossature, leg. usata). ¶ Édition originale de cet ouvrage sur l'Inde illustré d'1 carte dépl. et 47 lithographies sur fond teinté sauf 8 en couleurs.
