Narrative of An Ascent To The Summit of Mont Blanc, on the 8th and 9th August, 1827, 1st edition, Longman, Rees, et al., 1828, 14 (of 15) lithographed plates (6 on india paper, mounted: lacks plate of Mont Blanc and the Priory of Chamonix), 2 folding maps (one hand-coloured), folding panorama (split along some folds), facsimile letter, chart, hand-coloured folding table and hand-coloured comparative heights of mountains plate, occasional spotting, stitching of early leaves partly broken and several leaves detached, hold ownership inscription of H.G Broughton to front pastedown, contemporary half calf, worn, covers detached and back strip deficient, 4to (305 x 240mm) (Qty: 1) Neate A75. An early, successful ascent of Mont Blanc by the author, this account 'was a classic of alpine literature, a vivid narrative of the pleasures and perils of mountaineering illustrated by Auldjo's own sketches' (ODNB).
