Bowen saw great potential for Australia and the text of the map reads "whosoever perfectly discovers & settles it will become infallibly possessed of Territories as Rich, as fruitful, & as capable of improvement, as any that have been hitherto found out; either in the East Indies, of the West." A copy of this map was reportedly carried by Captain James Cook during his discovery of Australia's east coast a decade later. C
