Photographer: Henry King (1855 - 1923), John William Lindt (1845 - 1926), Charles Bayliss (1850 - 1897) and unknown. Views of Sydney, Australia as well as indeginous people, animals and nature. 1880s. 50 albumen prints. Each circa 15 x 20,5 cm. Most with title, number and photographer's name in the negative in lower edge, each mounted to gilt-edged board (time-stained in edges, slightly warped, some with foxing), bound together in green full leather album with gilt-tooling and gilt-stamped inscription Sydney 8th Nov., 1888 and monogram (edges rubbed, some tears in spine). 25,4 x 31,5 cm. A comprehensive album of Australia including views of Sydney, studio portraits of natives, landscapes and views of nature such as the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves, as well as unusual images of taxidermic animals. – At start and end of album photos with foxing and soiling, some photos with slight fading in edges, a few with oxidation mirroring in edges, otherwise most in very good condition.
