Speer, Sacramento, 7 August 1973, 1 page, 4to , written when Governor, concerning Proposition 1), and Lin YUTANG (letter signed, 1940); and of scientific figures, including Charles WATERTON (autograph letter signed, 1849, referring to people dying of 'hydrophobia' [rabies] in Halifax and his 'new remedy' brought from America), the chemist Claude Louis BERTHOLLET (autograph letter signed, to Bossi, [3 September 1797], mentioning the general [Bonaparte] and physician [Monge]), H.W.
