A collection of letters, fragments, cut signatures and franking signatures, chiefly 19th-century politicians, royalty and military figures, including an autograph letter signed by George III (to his son Frederick, Duke of York, 22 January 1799, informing him that Sir William Fawcett is to be introduced to the Council, one page, 4to ), the 1st Duke of Wellington (fragment of a autograph letter: 'I point out that this establishment provides only for the mere occupation of the several important points occupied ...') and others, cut signatures including those of George II, George III (two), George IV (2, one as Prince Regent), William IV, Victoria (2) and Prince Albert; altogether approximately 60 autograph letters and 244 signatures; together with engravings of views, particularly in the North of England; in a 4to album, morocco backed.
