Gladstone, Henry Brougham, W.C. Bryant, Edwin Landseer Oliver Wendell Holmes Daniel Maclise Louis Blanc and others; letters signed by Queen Victoria, William Pitt and others; a single line of music attributed to Franz LISZT (an arpeggio exercise); an autograph quotation signed by Henry Wadsworth LONGFELLOW (a quatrain, 'The night shall be filled with music', signed and dated '25 June 1867); and a collection of signatures (on cards, or cut), including Alfred, Lord TENNYSON, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Giuseppe Garibaldi, Wilkie Collins, Harriet Martineau and others; in total approximately 75 letters, 56 cut signatures, three poems and a music manuscript; a number of correspondents illustrated with photographs; laid down or tipped in on the pages of an album, 4to, brown morocco gilt (scuffed), gilt edges.
