Title: Autographed magazine page Author: Maris, Roger Place: NY Publisher: Date: 1962 Description: Signed "Best Wishes, Roger Maris" in blue ballpoint on a page of an inflight magazine. Pictured is a black and white photograph of Maris during his batting follow-through. The page contains a brief article about Casey Stengel, who is also pictured at the top of the article. This autograph was obtained in 1962, one year after Maris broke Babe Ruth's single-season home run record. It was acquired by a Flight Attendant with United Airlines, which chartered many flights for professional sports teams. She provides a letter a provenance for the signature, along with 2 snapshots of Maris on the plane. Lot Amendments Condition: There is a vertical fold along the center of the page, and 3 horizontal folds. The vertical and lower horizontal fold slightly affect the signature. The autograph is clear and bold, with a small contrast issue as it runs along Maris' image. A very desirable and "tough" signature. Item number: 159097
