Folds, offset to one letter, else fine; Together with a group of related letters to Avery, including several from the Metropolitan Museum acknowledging donations from Avery, a letter from Lawrence Park regarding Gilbert Stuart paintings, a letter from fellow collector Charles Stewart Smith, and a few letters regarding Edward Savage's Washington and his Family including one from the engraver of the painting John Sartain Kimball was a the owner of the Boston Museum which displayed several important Copley's and was also an associate of P.T. Barnum. The paintings sold here from Kimball to Avery would form the basis of many important museum collections, for example the Savage Washington and his Family, in which Kimball was the second owner, would be sold to Avery and then to William Frederick Havemeyer and now resides at the National Gallery. The Sully painting is now at the MFA Boston. A group of letters worthy of additional research. C
