BAKER, R., Arthur WHEELER and others]. A collection of watercolour drawings of fungi. [Bristol: 1888-1901]. 5 volumes, large 4° (358 x 305mm). Approximately 900 ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR DRAWINGS ON TINTED PAPER, various sizes, mounted or loosely inserted. (Occasional very slight spotting, paper mounts somewhat spotted, browned and with some surface wear.) Decorated cloth (worn), each album within a morocco-backed cloth box by Aquarius. A FINE COLLECTION. The fungi are mostly from the Bristol area. Almost all of them carry details of the species, locality and date, and many have detailed depictions of the spores. The drawings by Baker and Wheeler are of outstanding quality and finish. A number of Wheeler's drawings are in the collection of the British Museum (Natural History). See frontispiece (5)
