The match safe, is formed of two rounded pieces of translucent agate joined to form a cylinder, the color banding well-matched at the side seam of the gilded mounting, with hinged lid and an striker surface suitable for “non-safety” matches, length 2 ¾ in; together with a wax seal formed of tapering design formed of carved banded agate, having monogram initials engraved in the brass plate,length 2 ½ in.
