BARATTIERI, Giovanni Battista (1601-1677) - Architettura d'acque. Piacenza: Lealdo Leandro Bazachi, 1699. Second edition of this fundamental treatise on hydraulics of particular importance for the Lombard rivers. This is the first time that the two parts appear together having beeing published respectively in 1656 and 1663. 2 tomes in one volume, folio (300 x 195mm). Half-title, woodcut vignette on title, initials and headpieces in text, numerous woodcut illustrations, a double-page and a folding woodcut plate, respectively between pp. 96-97 of tome I and pp. 258-259 of tome II which illustrate the first an hydrographic representation and the second the tools connected to hydrographic leveling (few small wormtracks at the beginning and end, some slight staining, a small tear without loss at O1). Contemporary vellum, later manuscript title on spine and contemporary title on bottom edge (light staining, a wormhole and some rubbing to extremities). Provenance: some early maniculae on the margins.
