A FINE 18 CARAT GOLD AND DIAMOND-SET MINUTE REPEATING HUNTER CASED PRESENTATION WATCH WITH A VICTORIAN SILVER PRESENTATION BOX signed barraud & lunds, london, circa 1879, presentation box with english hallmarks With gilt-finished three-quarter plate jewelled lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, repeating on two gongs, 18 carat gold engraved cuvette, the white enamel dial with roman numerals, eccentric subsidiary dial, blued steel hands, the plain circular case with slide repeat mechanism in the band, the front cover with diamond-set inscription reading Presented to Maharaj Lakshmiswar Singh Bahadur of Darbhanga on 25, Sept 1879. By Maharaj Krishna Pratap Sahee Bahadur of Hathua followed by a diamond-set image of a fish, the interior of the cover is with a multi-chrome enamel portrait of a gentleman, the back cover with diamond-set monogram, together with a fine 18 carat gold flexible tubular chain comprised of inter-connecting links with circular discs with a star motif, accompanied with a silver presentation box with engraved floral motif, side columns set with royal crowns, dial and movement signed . 58 mm diam.
