Discorso morale sopra la consumazione del matrimonio, in cui si trattano le questioni piu importanti agitate da teologi e canonisti circa questa materia . Fair copy of the manuscript with 3-PAGE AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT DEDICATION SIGNED, Rome: 14 July 1694. 8° (200 x 130mm). 94 leaves: comprising title and dedication to Sig.Co.Costanzo d'Adda (4pp), preface to the reader (4pp), table of contents (4pp), text (86pp, misnumbered 84), written in black ink in a small, but clear bookhand. Contemporary calf, spine gilt (wear at head of spine), with two engraved portraits of the Pope tipped in. Provenance : M.C. Gioachimo d'Adda (18th-century ownership stamp on title). Benedict XIV was one of the most learned popes of modern times. At the age of 19 he graduated 'cum laude' in theology and canon law at the Collegio Clementino in Rome. The present manuscript is presumably the dissertation which he submitted. APPARENTLY UNPUBLISHED.
