BERTIUS, Petrus (1565-1629)]. Tabularum geographicarum contractarum libri septem . Amsterdam: Jodocus Hondius 1618.
BERTIUS, Petrus (1565-1629)]. Tabularum geographicarum contractarum libri septem . Amsterdam: Jodocus Hondius 1618. Oblong 8° (122 x 210mm). Latin and Greek text, engraved title, 220 engraved maps, one map used twice, appearing as n.1 and 220, woodcut initials. (Title lightly soiled, some browning and occasional spotting, waterstaining to a few leaves.) Contemporary vellum (some staining). THIRD EDITION. The first two editions were published both in 1616. 'A new engraved series of plates was made for the edition of Bertius's Tabulae Geographicae Contractae to be published by Jodocus Hondius Jr. The plates were used to illustrate some other books with maps, such as Paulus Merula's Cosmographia Generalis , printed in Leiden by Isaac Elsevier for Jodocus Hondius Jr. (57 plates used)'.
