BLONDEL, Jacques-François. Cours d'Architecture, ou Traité de la Décoration, Distribution & Construction des Bâtiments . Paris: Desaint [etc.], 1771-1777. 12 volumes in 9, 8° (195 x 123mm). Half-titles, final errata and privilege leaves in vols.I & II, 377 engraved plates by Croisey, de la Gardette, Marillier, Michelot, Milson, Pelletier, Le Roy and others after Blondel, Desprez, Eisen, Helin, Patte and others, many folding. (Some leaves slightly soiled, a few rust-holes.) Contemporary mottled calf, spines gilt in compartments, maroon and red lettering-pieces (spines neatly restored and laid down). Provenance : G.H. Vansittart (signature on titles dated 1808). FIRST EDITION of the 'Petit Blondel', continued after the author's death by his pupil Pierre Patte (1723-1812). Fowler 51; Berlin Kat. 2429. (9)
