NWA 1941 Chondrite, L6 Sahara Desert, border of Algeria and Morocco This meteorite displays a very unusual blue color, with rare gas vesicles in the metal-filled matrix. It also exhibits rare armored chondrules, spheres of silicate which were covered in molten iron while forming in deep space; these are seen only in a very small percentage of meteorites. A specimen from a mass of only 36 kilograms, the high metal content and blue color of the matrix produce a resemblance to a clear night sky, full of stars and galaxies.
