Collation : a-t 8 u 1 0 . 162 leaves. 62 lines and headline, table in 3 columns. Gothic types 1:74, 2:130, 3:62, 4:92, 7:82, 8:102, 10:57, Roman type 5:80. Woodcut ornamental initials from two sets, 13 full-page woodcut genealogical trees, printer's mark. (Stains on a7, g5-6 affecting woodcuts, small closed marginal tear on u10, some worming at end catching letters, occasional mostly marginal dampstaining and spotting.) Vellum binding from a ?16th-century antiphonal, later morocco lettering-piece on spine. Provenance : marginalia in an early hand -- Estelle Doheny (paper bookplate; purchased from Dawson's Bookshop, Los Angeles, 1 November 1943) -- donated to SMS November 1943. Fourth edition of the full text, but the first to contain the full-page woodcut diagrams illustrating the genealogy of the pagan gods. The woodcuts were next used in a reprint of the Locatellus edition which appeared in 1497 printed by Manfredus de Bonellis.
