Provenance : Henry Ford (presentation inscription from the author). FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY BODKIN on the front free endpaper: "Henry Ford With the authors compliments M.McD. Bodkin." A collection of short stories by the Irish author and judge Bodkin. Dora Myrl was preceded by Paul Beck the Rule of Thumb Detective . "Having created a detective of each sex... Bodkin contrived this duello in a novel called - note the title - The Capture of Paul Beck . At the end of the novel... Dora Myrl becomes Mrs. Paul Beck and thus inaugurating what is possibly the earliest family of detectives in mystery fiction." See Queen's Quorum 23. [ With ]: The Capture of Paul Beck London, T.
