BÖCKLER, Georg Andreas (ca. 1644-1698). Architectura Curiosa Nova. Translation from German into Latin by J.C.Sturm. Nuremberg: Paul Fürstens, [1664]. 4 parts in one volume, 2° (322 x 212mm). Title in red and black within border of typographic ornaments, 3 section titles. Engraved frontispiece and 200 plates, one folding. (The first plate holed, the folding plate, numbered 117 in part 3, cut-down and laid-down, 4 plates in the final part shaved with slight loss.) Modern speckled calf, old lettering-piece laid down on spine. First edition with Latin text. The first section describes various pieces of technical apparatus, the second various designs for free-standing fountains, the third more elaborate designs for fountains and the fourth, parterre designs, fountains and views of some palaces and chateaux.
