BOISSIER, EDMOND. Voyage botanique dans le midi de l'Espagne pendant l'année 1837. Paris: Gide et Cie., 1839-1845. 2 vols. (including plate vol.), large 4to, 340 x 270 mm., original boards, backstrips worn, light soiling, slight spotting to text, some general light spotting and browning to plates, plates 45 and 48 with appreciable staining. FIRST EDITION, PROBABLY LIMITED TO NO MORE THAN 120 to 130 copies, of which very few were hand-colored. Double-page HAND-COLORED lithographed synoptic table, 205 HAND-COLORED engraved plates on 206 leaves, by J.C.Heyland and A.Riocreux. A number of 'remaindered' copies were discovered in the 1960s, many of these were coloured up, but can generally be identified by the modern bindings. Nissen BBI 190; Stafleu & Cowan TL2 605.
