Ruled and underlined in red. Mid-16th-century dark calf, wide outer border of alternating blind and gilt double fillets, gilt floral cornerpieces, centrally gilt-stamped fleuron flanked at top and bottom by 2 gilt-tooled arabesques composed of sheaves of wheat (or pots of fire) connected by vine tools, encompassing dots and small foliate tools, edges gilt (lacking ties, a few discreet repairs); blue morocco folding case. Provenance : Inscribed “Jean Baptiste De Nully chanoine de Nostre Dame du chapel de Beauvais me posseduit en l’anne 1679”; “S. Tieresonnier 1708”; “Eustache Louis Borel Conseiller D’Etat et en la chambre des Comptes de Paris President Lieutenant General de Beauvais en 1780. Pre Donation des enfants et heritiers de Me.
