Boucheron | An Exceptional Sapphire and Diamond Ring, France Centering an emerald-cut sapphire weighing 23.72 carats, flanked by bullet-shaped diamonds and accented by single- and rose-cut diamonds, size 5¾, signed Boucheron Paris, numbered X3125, with French assay mark, one small rose-cut diamond missing; circa 1930.Condition reportIn good condition, the mounting with light scratches and scuffs commensurate with wear and age and thinning to the base of the shank. One small rose-cut diamond missing. French assay mark for platinum. The sapphire is a vibrant medium deep blue, richly saturated, eye-clean with a veil of silk under one quadrant seen on close inspection, with a few small nicks around the girdle. Slight splitting between shoulders on shank, seen under magnification. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.40 carats, are approximately G-H color, VS-SI clarity. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 70653 dated December 15, 2015 stating that the sapphire is of Classic Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Together with a letter stating that this color variety of sapphire may also be called 'royal blue' based on AGL reference standards, attesting to the rarity and importance of the sapphire and stating that the gem "exhibits a deep and richly saturated blue color." Accompanied by SSEF report no. 119465 dated November 9, 2021 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin with no indications of heating. Together with a letter attesting to the rarity and importance of the sapphire and noting that the color and properties are characteristic of the finest sapphires from Mogok.
