lot of 18 including 1st and 2nd a pair of ca 1900-20s Chinese composition dolls, a well fed Chinese merchant and his wife in traditional cloth outfits on original wood stands, marked on base Made In China, 9.5" and 9" tall, PLUS 3rd and 4th a pair of molded and painted socket lady dolls, likely Polish, in traditional ethnic peasant outfits, both 14.5" tall, PLUS 5th a pre-WWII lacquered wood Japanese court lady with elaborate headdress and silk outfit, seated, 7" high with headdress, PLUS 6th a pre-WWII a lacquered wood Japanese peasant lady with black wig and traditional clothing on lacquered wood stand, 12" tall, 7th an unmarked, likely Japanese, ca 1930s all composition child doll, Kewpie-like but lacking wings and with brown wig, jointed arms and molded and painted features in newer woven dress, 5" tall, PLUS 8th-11th four composition character figures all by Margaret Kalashian Crunkleton, all with hand-painted details, including an elderly African American lady dated 1986, 8.5" high and elderly Caucasian couple dated 1986-87, both 8.5" tall and a very grandmotherly figure, dated 1987 and 6.5" tall, all signed in ink on bases and two with printed paper tags, PLUS 12th a molded felt German lady doll with modern pants suit, still in original shipping box from World Wide Doll Club, N.Y., the original printed tag pinned to her reads Toni From Bavaria and this is also stamped on box, printed label on soul of right foot reads Handwork/Handurbeit/Made In Germany and there is an illustrated page in German included, she is 8" tall and still strapped into box, PLUS 13th a small plush covered carved wooden dog with glass eyes, black bead nose and red felt tongue, likely German from the 1930s, 4" long x 3" high, PLUS 14th Disney character Pluto, painted wood puppet-type toy on wood paddle with pull string marked Fisher Price Toys, 13" long x 4" high, PLUS 15th an older Fisher Price Teddy Zilo musical pull toy with chromolithographed paper over wood of bear that plays a five note xylophone, 5" x 9" x 11" high, PLUS 16th a composition and cloth hand puppet, somewhat scary tramp-like figure, marked Made In Switzerland, 12" and in original F.A.O. Schwarz illustrated gift box, PLUS 17th is a wood block set with church, freight warehouse, school, railroad station and three other buildings with lithographed paper details, most ca 3" x 5" x 4" high, AND 18th a composition and stuffed cloth Japanese toddler doll, somewhat unusual in its construction with solid dome composition head with black and grey fixed glass eyes, closed mouth, head and upper torso that are separated from neck, upper torso separate from lower torso by an accordion cloth section, which expands from 1.5" to 3.5", upper arms and legs are made in the same manner and hands and feet are jointed at wrists and ankles, 23" tall. Condition: 1st-2nd with slight wear, VG; 3rd and 4th slight wear and very slight soil, VG; 5th lacking stand, else VG; 6th some wear to dress, else VG; 7th as above else VG; 8th-11th VG+; 12th near mint in box, box with slight dents; 13th VG; 14th missing one ear and paint ca 94%, VG-; 15th lithography ca 92%, missing pull string, still VG-; 16th VG+; 17th there are three complete and three incomplete buildings in the set; 18th some flaking of painted finish on arms and legs and missing left hand.
