Engraved title to each part, 177 double-page engraved plates by Hogenberg and Simon van den Neuvel (Novellanus) after Joris Hoefnagel and others. Final blank preserved in part two. (Plate 20 ['Namur'] in part 2 torn more than half way along fold, some browning in part 3, occasional small spots and stains elsewhere, part 1 without the 2-leaf Index Alphabeticus at end.) Contemporary calf over wood boards, covers with multiple fillets and drawer tool panelling in blind (spine and extremities of covers worn, clasps lacking). AN ATTRACTIVE, UNSOPHISTICATED COPY of this celebrated town atlas. Parts I-III were first published 1572-1581. Among the 200 or so towns depicted are London, Lisbon, Granada, Paris, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Prague, Frankfurt, Munich, Venice, Rome, Naples, Constantinople, Calcutta, Cairo, Moscow, Mantua, Jerusalem, Damascus, Alexandria, Verona and Pisa.
