"Certainly you have my permission [letter of 22 March 1956] to use 'A Chance for Mr. Lever' in the collection of stories you are editing for Messrs. Fabers at whatever fee is decided... "Sorry that I haven't got the energy [letter of 6 February 1961] to contribute anything on erotica or striptease...I'm trying hard to take a sabbatical year from any kind of writing as I'm feeling in a rather exhausted condition...I was delighted to hear the news that you have become editor of The London Magazine " --BLUNDEN, EDMUND. Autograph letter signed to Alan Ross [London, n.d.]. One page, 8vo. "...It was very kind of you indeed to think of writing a chapter about me in your book. I am very grateful indeed since even now I can still feel a bit of the backwash of the feeling I aroused by my anti-Komintern campaign in Spain..."
