Bowcher], Britannia standing with trident, rev. legend, named (J. Shirley-Fox, R.B.A.…1929), 44mm; Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland, the Frankland Medal, a bronze award by F. Bowcher, bust of Sir Edward Frankland right, rev. wreath, named (Frederick Bascombe, 1935), 63mm; together with other Society-related medals (6, one in silver and one cased) [8]. Second virtually as struck, others very fine and better (£50-70) Footnote John Shirley Shirley-Fox, RBA (1860-1939), vice-president of the BNS 1915-16, received the gold medal of the Society for his contribution to the paper written in conjunction with his brother, H.B. Earle Fox, on the numismatic history of the reigns of Edward I, II and III
