Standard, post-1777 flat "India Pattern" Tower marked flint pistol lock with Board of Ordnance acceptance mark. Stock with a raised carved apron around the breech plug tang, a plethora of British military inspection marks and an 1803 dated storekeepers mark at the wrist. Belt hook in place, along with brass tipped wooden ramrod. A very nice example of an early Napoleonic Wars era English Sea Service pistol that brings to mind the smiling countenance of Captain "Lucky Jack" Aubrey and the crew of the Surprise. Condition: Very Good. Barrel with a lightly cleaned, mottled gray patina showing scattered surface oxidation and discoloration. Brass with a mellow, golden patina. Mechanically functional, lightly pitted bore. Stock solid, with scattered bumps and dings.
