.75 caliber, 26" barrel, no S/N. A British 3rd model "Brown Bess" of India pattern. Shortened from 39" to 26" during period of use. The India pattern lock is marked Tower with {crown} / GR. All small parts are original. Barrel has British Board of Ordinance acceptance marks. Dark walnut stock with brass furniture. Condition: The barrel has brown patina and little to no pitting. Brass India pattern furniture is good. Stock has a blackened finish, likely added later. Buttplate is beveled on sides. An interesting India patterned flintlock "Brown Bess," possibly made for sea service.
