Folio (336 x 228 mm). 19th century mottled calf over marbled boards, gilt lettered and decorated spine. Browning and some spotting throughout, repaired closed tears to gutter margin at tail edge of first two leaves, dampstains to tail edge at gutter and to head at gutter, several leaves with brief instances of worming in gutter near tail edge and at fore-edge near top, three plates wanting folding extension, front free endpaper detached, covers with light wear to extremities, spine rubbed, lacks lower compartment. Second edition, later issue without Feyrabend on the title-page, but still signed "Theodore de Bry fe." on Adam and Eve plate. Map of Virginia in second state (of three). The first of 13 parts published over a 35-year period important for its early depiction of Native American life and customs before the varied influences of Western culture.
