Burney (Charles) An Account of the Musical Performances in Westminster-Abbey, and the Pantheon ...in Commemoration of Handel, first edition , 8 engraved plates including plan of orchestra, some stipple engraved and printed in bistre, with final errata/directions to binder leaf, some foxing, mainly to frontispiece and title, later ink inscription to front free endpaper, bookplate of Arthur F.Hill, nineteenth century half calf, spine gilt, upper joint split, for the Benefit of the Musical Fund, and sold by T. Payne, 1785 § [Mainwaring (John)] Memoirs of the Life of the late George Frederic Handel...[with] a Catalogue of the Works , first edition , half-title, engraved portrait, contemporary signature at head of title and inscription to front free endpaper, name stamp to several leaves, a few pencil notes, marginal water-staining towards end, contemporary calf, red morocco label, spine repaired at head, R. & J.Dodsley, 1760, rubbed, 4to & 8vo (2) ⁂ Although the dedication is signed by Burney it was written by Samuel Johnson.
