Three autograph letters from Jacob Bryant to Miss Burney at Her Majesty's Lodge in Windsor.
Cypenham: 4 January 1787. 1p., single sheet (225 x 190mm). A warm letter from Mr. Bryant complimenting Miss Burney and speaking of their imminent visit and their friend Mrs. Delany, “… Mr. B is much obliged to Miss Burney for the pleasing intelligence of Mrs. Delany being so much better: and hopes Her valuable life may be still prolonged, to the satisfaction + happiness of all.” [With:] Cypenham: 2 May 1790. 1p., folded sheet with integral address panel (225 x 190mm). Mr. Bryant thanking Miss Burney for lending him books and again returns the favor of allowing his books to be of service to her if she wishes to use them. Condition: some evidence of mounting, some text faded, occasional spots . (2). [With:] Cypenham: 7 August 1792. 3pp., with integral address leaf left blank, orginal red wax seal (230 x 187mm). Mr. Bryant talks of his recent visit and of a reception that he attended with many of her friends. [With:] A collection of ten other various letters addressed to Miss Burney (or Madame D’Arblay) from Gasparo Pacchierotti (2), Mr. Jermingham (2), Sam Rogers, C. Cooke, D. Young, H. Chapone, and two unknown correspondents. Condition: some with paper repairs to corners, evidence of mounting, occasional soiling.
