Manufactured 1941. Samozaryadnaya Vintovka Tokareva (SVT) of 1940. Semi-automatic rifle of the Russian Army. Chambered for the 7.62X54R cartridge with a 10 round detachable magazine. Using gas-operated short-stroke piston with tilting bolt design and a unique fluted chamber, the SVT was one of the finest self loading rifles ever designed. Used extensively in the World War II conflict with great success. CONDITION: Very good as arsenal reconditioned. forced matched numbers on bolt, magazine and butt plate. The bore is very fine with sharp lands and grooves, A small import mark is found on reciever and a BATFE compliant serial number stamped at rear of receiver. Wood is very good with all Russian/Soviet sub-inspectors markings still legible on right side of butt. TDW Item Dimensions: L: 48".
