Built by Mike Alsop in 2002, with moulded hull, but scratch built deck, superstructure and fittings. Painted green to the waterline with raised wales, and red below, with a four blade, brass propeller. Laid limewood decks, superstructure in painted plywood and varnished teak. Exceptional details include a working net capstan, operating navigation and wheelhouse interior lights, fully fitted forepeak with galley, detailed fish room. Neat scale fittings including navigation lights, net rollers, companionway, mast and rigging, ship's boat. Power train is by a Reeves Borderer two cylinder slide valve double-acting steam engine with Stevenson reversing mechanism and boiler feed water pump. The engine exhausts via a valved condensor with steam to the funnel and water overside. There is a four-channel radio control servo system, for rudder, steam throttle, forward/reverse and steam whistle. The model is presented on an oak display stand. 67x15x30in(170x38x76cm)
