Half-titles, titles in red and black. 16 steel-engraved plates, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with 24 plates, 12 hand-coloured. Cosway-style binding in 20th-century dark blue morocco gilt by Bayntun (Riviere), upper covers with inset hand-coloured oval portrait miniatures, the miniatures surrounded by gilt triple-fillet and inset seed pearl border, surrounded in turn by gilt sun-burst, the outer border with a semi-naturalistic design of lilies and foliage, the flowerheads tooled onto white leather onlays, the foliage onto green morocco onlays, the lower cover with a central sun-burst design around a large fleur-de-lys tool, with a single fillet outer border, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and fourth, the others with an alternating repeat design of a spray of lilies tooled onto white leather onlays within a border of fillets, gilt turn-ins, watered-silk endleaves, gilt edges.
