Le arti di Bologna disegnate da Annibale Caracci ed intagliate da Simone Guilini coll' assistenza di Alessandro Algardi Aggiuntavi la Vita del sudetto Annibale Caracci. Rome: Gregorio Roisecco, 1740. 2° (435 x 285mm). Title with woodcut vignette. Engraved portrait of Caracci and 80 plates of itinerant trades by Guilini, extra-illustrated with a later cut- and laid-down double-page portrait of Caracci. (Occasional light spotting, heavier to the final plate, plate numbered 75 with short tear to lower blank margin.) Contemporary vellum over pasteboard, morocco lettering-piece on spine, later gilt arms of Sir William Stirling Maxwell (small neat repairs to head and foot of spine and corners). Provenance : Sir William Stirling Maxwell (1818-1878, binding and armorial bookplate); Achibald Stirling of Keir (bookplate).
