Lot of five, includes: One whole plate tintype matted and housed in original frame, 11.5 x 13.5 in., featuring a bearded man in military coat identified by modern paper tag as Private George W. Rose of the 5th Tennessee Infantry, Confederate States of America. Cheeks slightly tinted pink and buttons highlighted in gold. One sixth plate tintype of a man in uniform. Housed in book style case, fully separated at flap. One sixth plate tintype of a mustached man in uniform, with revenue stamp marked 1865 on back of plate. Cheeks lightly tinted pink. Housed in half case. One sixth plate tintype of a man in a military jacket and kepi, with glass over image broken at upper right corner in two places. Cheeks lightly tinted pink. Housed in half case. One sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a bearded soldier in uniform, wearing a kepi, and armed with a P53 Enfield Rifle. Cheeks lightly tinted pink. Housed in full case, with repair at hinge. Condition: First listed sixth plate image has some discoloration affecting portrait. Glass over third listed sixth plate image is cracked at upper right corner in two places, with much speckling throughout. Fourth sixth plate image with spotting and some discoloration throughout.
