Half titles, 72 engraved plates including frontispieces. (Some browning, spotting and offsetting.) Contemporary sheep (very rubbed or worn, some labels missing, most of spine of vol. VI missing and its lower cover detached). FIRST EDITION, translated into German in 1815 and English in 1821. The plates "depict the costumes of the functionaries of the Ottoman court; there are also illustrations of arms, standards and other objects as well as an interesting section on music and dance" (Blackmer). Blackmer 300; Colas 545. (6)
