The objets d'art illustrated include rings, rosaries and rosary beads, reliquaries, necklaces, pendant jewels, silver and niello medallions, portrait medallions, ivory and enamelled caskets, buttons, seals, chalices, cups, vases and clocks "The whole of the plates of this book have been engraved by Hallet Hyatt, of 111, Oxford Street, London. All the photographs have been taken by him, and the whole of the hand-coloured facsimiles were painted under his supervision."
