Binding designed by Devauchelle: purple morocco, the covers with an overall semi-abstract design made up from multi-coloured onlays, tooled with gilt fillets and roundels, blue stars, and blue or red roundels, the flat spine lettered in gilt, interspersed with blue or red roundels, buckram doublures and endleaves edged in green morocco, original upper wrapper bound-in, g.e., purple half morocco chemise, slipcase, signed on front turn-in: Devauchelle. Limited edition of 153 copies on Vélin pur chiffon d'Arches , THIS NUMBER X OF XVI COLLABORATEURS COPIES, the justification leaf with the publisher's blindstamp and signed in blue pencil by Chagall, Paulhan and the president of the society.
