London: [Richard Field and William Jaggard] for Nathaniel Butter, [1616?]. Woodcut title-page border, woodcut head- and tailpieces and initials. Two parts in one, folio, late eighteenth-century straight-grained red morocco gilt, joints cracked, covers detached, g.e.; without the engraved title for Odysses (often cancelled) and dedication leaf, Gg4 and Gg5 misbound before B, A2-A6 of second part bound at beginning of first part, lower margin dampstained throughout (crossing text on approximately 50 leaves at front), title-page a little browned and slightly frayed along lower fore-margin edge, some minor marginal soiling. FIRST COMPLETE EDITION OF CHAPMAN'S HOMER, second(?) issue with the Iliad reprinted by [T. Harper] for Nathaniel Butter, [1634?] and without engraved portrait of Chapman on title verso.
