Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe OBE RA (1901-1979) Annie Salaman, 1928, copper plate, measurements 17.7 x 15.2 cm The copper plate for the portrait etching of Annie Salaman has the face erased and hole drilled through the centre. It was based on an original pencil portrait housed in the collection of Macclesfield Museums. In 1929 Tunnicliffe sent Mr Salaman an etched portrait of Annie but it was not well liked. The edition size of etchings is believed to be less than 5 impressions and unpublished before the plate was decommissioned by the artist.
