A group of items relating to English born actor Charles Laughton including two vintage publicity photographs personally inscribed and signed by Laughton and a signed cut sheet of paper. Together with two letters, the first typed on plain paper dated May 19, 1947 and signed. The letter, addressed to Rosalind Ivan, discusses theater projects and John Gielgud among other subjects. The second letter, handwritten and dated April 7, 1936, is written in French and addressed to the director of the Comedie Francaise in response to his request for Laughton to appear at his theater in Paris. Also included is a standard "questionnaire for employees of the motion picture industry" with extensive questions regarding citizenship. The multi-page form is filled out completely in Laughton's hand. From 3 x 4 1/4in to 11 x 8 1/2in Provenance: Estate of Charles Williamson and Tucker Fleming.
