(18.4x14.7cm.) , illus., recto of frontispiece signed and inscribed by Chaplin in French in blue ink with a dedication to Maurice Bessy, dated 1946 and annotated with a self-portrait Tramp caricature, with Maurice Bessy's bookplate attached to inside later polished calf covers titled in gilt Charlot ; enclosing a typescript letter signed from Robert Florey to Maurice Bessy on Mr. Robert Florey, 11411 Ayrshire Road, Los Angeles 24, California headed paper, 1st May 1946, telling Bessy in french that he and Chaplin wanted Bessy to have this rare book and pointing out Chaplin's dedication and caricature of which he himself is very proud 1p.; and FLOREY, Robert Les Grands Artistes De L'Écran Charlie Chaplin , Paris: Jean-Pascal, 1927, 4to. 9¾x6½in.
