Château Haut-Brion, Blanc--Vintage 1989
10 bottles per lot
VERY RARE HAUT-BRION BLANC Haut Brion blanc from an east coast collector. Removed from a purpose-built temperature and humidity controlled cellar for this sale. HAUT-BRION BLANC The best dry white Bordeaux wines are found in Péssac-Léognan. Made from almost equal proportions of Sémillion and Sauvignon Blanc with Sauvignon Gris, Château Haut-Brion Blanc is undoubtly one of the best dry white Bordeaux. The wine is fermented in oak barrels and aged in 50 new oak for 9-12 months before bottling. With an annual production of 450 to 600 cases, Château Haut-Brion Blanc's production is very small, making it one of the most sought-after dry white wines in Bordeaux with great aging potential. Château Haut-Brion, Blanc--Vintage 1989 Pessac (Graves), cru classé Lot 66 levels: ten 1.5cm or better, two 2.0cm; five very lightly scuffed labels Lot 67 levels: nine 1.0cm or better, three 1.5cm; lightly scuffed labels Lot 68 levels: eight 1.0cm or better, two 1.5cm; one slight signs of old seepage, five wine stained labels, two lightly torn labels, four lightly scuffed labels 1989 Haut Brion Blanc "The '89 Haut-Brion blanc is almost unbelievably exotic, with profuse aromas of pineapple and coconut on the nose, colored with a hint of vanilla and buttered toast. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, almost unctuous, and very rich wine, yet it retains freshness and true balance. Wonderful." At a dinner organized by the Château in New York, CC, July 2010 10 bottles per lot
